On May 16, 2014, Sr Rosetta Stone, NSr Lida Christ, and NSr Gloria Laleuia met up at the Boston Center for the Arts to join in on the Sip The Rainbow fundraiser. This years event displayed a gallery of photo’s taken during the movement for gay marriage, as well as portraits taken of the original plaintiffs in the landmark court case, all marking 10 years of gay marriage in Boston. The event was well-attended by the general public.
Gloria and Lida worked the crowd to sell raffle tickets. During the speaking part of the evening, all three nuns had an opportunity to address the crowd, including making our first public announcement of being chosen Grand Marshals for the 2014 Boston Pride Parade.
Feedback after the event from the BCAE resulted in learning that the raffle sales were greater the BCAE had expected, and the executive director was grateful and happy for our participation.
