Point Nun Report: Fascination Gear Beer Bust 9/18/24

Sunday, the traditional holy day of the Dorchester Brewing Company was once again held sacred by those who celebrate holes and those who love good company holy or otherwise. Novice Sister  Betty Esém, Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing, Brother Gary Recruiter and Postulant Sister Tess Tosterone spilled into the well loved establishment for another round of Fascination’s Gear Beer Bust.

A regular event now, occurring every other month, it still is never a disappointment. As people socialized inside and outside on the glorious deck, dancing to tunes, drinking brews or engaging in the amazing art of Mr M, the general atmosphere was of satisfaction and thanks. The community is so lucky to have places where they can bring their whole selves and be present with one another. No one seemed to take this opportunity for granted this Sunday.

Beyond engaging in community ourselves, we sisters four took up the task of selling raffle tickets in support of BAGLY, an amazing organization who provides support and safe socialization to our queer and trans youth. If you are sensing a theme, please know that those present responded with great generosity. Thank you BAGLY for all the work you do, and thank you to the community, for recognizing that work and continuing to support BAGLY.

I, Abbess Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing of the Increasingly Long Name, got to help pull the winning raffle tickets standing proudly with our host Saint Gentlemanly Geared, also known as Ulysses the Leather Gentleman. We have since learned that soon Saint Geared will be moving onto his next stage of life in a new city.

If we had some way to tell him, perhaps by including him on what is normally an internal email, I would tell Ulysses that he is loved. I would tell Ulysses that what he has done in Boston is no small thing. That the community is stronger and safer here than it has ever been. That is has been given an example to continue, so that others mind find the path to Sainthood themselves. We honor you Saint Gentlemanly Geared.

Thank you, and may you receive rewards from every angle.
