On September 11th, Sisters Dearest Caught in Headlights, Gloria LeLuia, Ima Miracle, Lida Christ, Rosetta Stone, Tori d’Affair, and Sister Sandra Musique joined Novice Sister Luvinya Always, Postulant Sister Shiny Bright, and Aspirants Sister Angela Mercy and Donna Condom at Club Café to auction off twenty-one bachelors and bachelorettes for Harbor to the Bay. The Sisters would especially like to thank Club Café for their tremendous hospitality both during and in preparation for the event. The Sisters would also like to thank all of the businesses that donated date packages and prizes for the auction: Boston Chops, Zeitgeist Stage Company, Stella, The Miss Mill City Pageant, Tremont 647, The Paint Bar, The Handle Bar Cycling Studio, American Repertory Theater, Hugh O’Neill’s, Oasis Brazillian BBQ, Roshankish Martial Art Studios, Dbar, Magiannos, Godiva Chocolate, The Huntington Theater Company, Moo…, Sirlesque, JP Seafood, Drink, Bacco Ristorrante, Del Frisco’s Steak House, Anchor Inn Beach House, Kiehls, Jimmy’s Hideaway, and The Red Inn.
The event was successful beyond even our wildest expectations, raising $13,500! Many of the nuns took turns escorting the bachelors and bachelorettes onto the stage. While many of the bachelor(ettes) were nervous beforehand, everyone did exceptionally well! Sandra and Rosetta’s colorful commentary throughout the evening created a fun and positive atmosphere for everyone involved and ensured that the participants were auctioned off for unbelievably generous donations. As with every event, the Sisters ended the evening awed and humbled by the tremendous support of our community.
In addition to the auction, the Sisters produced a calendar with the help of Meg Birnbaum, Todd Danforth, Emil Cohen, and Rich Kendall featuring some of the bachelors. These calendars will continue to sell and increase the revenue of the event. They can be purchased at http://www.harbortothebay.org/2015-bachelor-auction-calendar/
