On May 9, 2014, Sisters Amanda Tyan-Whip, Dearest Caughtinheadlights, Eunice X, KrisTall Mighty and Sandra Musique and novice Sister Lida Christ manifested at the convent and waltzed over to the Benjamin Franklin Institute meeting Sr. Sandra and Sr. Amanda.
We were put to work immediately with the meet and greet as well as staffing the raffle ticket tables. We broke out into groups and hit the floor to sell raffle tickets for different programs such as technology for a student, funding the creation of a technology lab, purchasing educational materials, etc.. Each program was a specific funded amount and that amount provided x # of tickets. While a bit confusing, we did well and did sell all they expected and more.
Then the real fun began as we helped with the serving of the appetizers and drinks. We add a great amount of fun and color with helping the guests experience the food and drinks throughout the night.
As the night grew on, round about 10pm, Eunice et al took to the stage and drew the winners of the raffles. She also gave a great introduction to the concept of the Sisters and we were given a great round of applause.
The night was a tremendous success and they raised a great deal of money. I am still awaiting the final figures and will update when I can.
