Point Nun Report: Boston Sisters Retreat 9/27-9/29

It was my privilege and joy to attend and help lead the retreat this weekend. A big thank you and shout out to Sister Ima Miracle for spearheading the agenda and many of the events.

In attendance were: Freddie Anne Willing, Ima Miracle, Jessa Belle, May Flower, Stella Tension-Hor, Ava Cado, Betty Esém, Cherri Tonnin and Spot.

It was a well used opportunity to rest, recharge, commune with each other, learn our history and participate in ritual that deepens our roots in our community and in the world. To be surrounded by nature, under the stars and so close to the crossroads of Canada that our phones couldn’t keep up was magical. We thank our hosts immensely for the space.

Friday was mostly social with bad movie night being replaced with Jackbox Games, tarot readings and conversations.

Saturday the more formal work began. Everyone brought themselves forward with an open mind and understanding toward each other. We dreamed big, experimented with painting techniques, dove into the positions of our house, and more.

I want to highlight Saturday evening where we brought our thoughts to our entire house, as we engaged in the “hallmark” ritual, putting words to our joys and wishes for each other. We made a card for every member of the house, and Mish as well.

We took that focus and discussed the known history of the Sister Glitter ceremony, and allowed ourselves to be vulnerable with each other as we engaged in the ritual yet again. I marked the card envelopes with the ashes of the fire pit, to try to bring some of that energy forward to everyone who could not be present.
