On Friday Oct 25th, 2019, Sisters Heidi Sins, Angie O’Plasty, Amanda Tyan-Whip, Lida Christ, Grace A’Gawd (point), Guard Isaiah Prayer, and Postulants Len and David convened at the Boston Marriott in Copley Place for the festive annual GLAD Spirit of Justice Awards Gala. The mission of the Gala is to raise awareness and money to ensure that GLAD can continue its action and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to being a fundraiser, the event celebrated its 20th year and honored several people who have made outstanding legal and cultural contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.
In keeping with our mission to spread universal joy, the Sisters entertained and delighted the guests throughout the evening. During the cocktail hour, the Sisters mingled with guests and posed for many fabulous photos at the photo booth. Sisters then helped usher guests into the ballroom for the formal program which included several moving speakers. When the call to donate occurred, Sisters circulated the room and personally thanked as many people as they could for their generous donations. After a short respite in the volunteer room, the Sisters rejoined the guests and continued the merriment until it was time to leave. Sisters bid one final farewell to the Gala goers who all remarked that they had a wonderful time at the event. Then, several Sisters departed to Fascination at Jacques and others spent some time connecting with each other in the volunteer room. The Sisters in attendance were gracious and engaging beyond compare and impressively perpetuated the mission of the Order.
