On March 31st, Sisters Luvinya Always and Lida Christ, along with Postulant Sister Grace A’Gawd, descended on Club Cafe to kickoff fundraising for the upcoming 13th Harbor to the Bay charity bike ride. Throughout the night, the generosity of the community surpassed expectations.
Armed with a bundle of raffle tickets and two liquor baskets, the Nuns were able to fundraise a whopping $852 for Harbor to the Bay. Although the patrons were given the option to purchase single tickets for $5, the community greatly preferred the inseam option for $20, much to the delight of everyone involved! After the Imperial Court presented a very generous $1000 check to H2B, the Sisters took the stage and pushed the community to raise the then $632 raffle fundraising total to their goal of $750. Again, the community exceeded all expectations and donated an additional $220 during our final ask– reminding us once again how important it is to push in the end!
To finish the night, Sisters Luvinya and Lida auctioned off rider numbers 13 and 69. Sister Luvinya was especially proud of her microphone commentary, which has greatly improved. Although no one should have been surprised by how much people bid on the rider numbers, again the community reiterated the evening’s theme of generosity with Joseph Richards bidding $650 for number 13 and John Koss bidding $700 for 69. By the end of the night, the nuns had raised a surprisingly large grand total of $2,202!!
After a quick whirl of goodbyes, the Nuns vanished in their signature poof of glitter and love!
