On Thursday, February 27, Point Nun Sister Eunice X was joined at The Convent for communal facing by Novice Sisters Lida Christ and Gloria Leluia, as well as Postulant Agnes Dei and Saint Mega Pixel. We departed The Convent well in time to arrive at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel by 5:00 PM.
Soon we were playing greeters and hostesses, inviting patrons of the event to visit the coat check, registration tables, and then cocktail reception. We split up for a time to cover more ground, and had the opportunity to speak with many of the Mass Equality supporters about our work and mission. This was our first time for this event, and so there were quite a few people who were unfamiliar, although probably at least as many had seen us at other charity events.
We were invited to a table in the ballroom for dinner, and shared delightful conversations with Jay, a retired architect, Sam, a soon-to-be graduate of nuclear physics from MIT, as well as Jack, the Exec Dir. at the Scleroderma Foundation, and also Paul. They were all very sweet.
We assisted with the auction and encouraged people to donate via text message (a new banquet technology to my eyes), and then we said good night as patrons were headed home into the blustery, frigid night.
And there was much rejoicing!
Much love and respect,
Sr. Eunice
