On Sunday, April 21, Point Nun Sr. Eunice was joined by Sr. KrisTall, Postulant Penny, Aspirant Jac, and newly minted Altered Boy Rob at the Convent for communal facing. At 2:30 we struck out for The Brahman restaurant, making out way up the Commonwealth Avenue Mall and across Berkeley, edging the perimeter of the marathon exclusion zone.
We arrived in time to orient ourselves to the ca 100 silent auction items and then broke into two teams for raffle ticket sales. It was a moderate-sized but generous crowd, in that we took in almost exclusively $20 bank-of-five-ticket purchases, raising a total of $1090.
By 6:00 PM we were at the Cyclorama to kick off our memorial vigil for the victims of the marathon bombing, but alas Bostonians are gratefully moving on and nobody came. We made lemonade from lemons and quickly changed plans to a rapid fire combination meningitis alert/One Fund Drive and raised an additional $240. Our updated total for the weekend is ca $390.
